Mission

The Oregon School Psychologists Association provides leadership in creating a brighter future for all Oregon children through professional affiliation, collaborative problem-solving, and best practices.

Services

Members of OSPA enjoy annual training conferences at reduced rates. We design these conferences to accomplish four goals: 1) Keep members' skills up to date with the latest evidence-based practices, 2) Provide Continuing Professional Development clock hours that are essential to license renewal, 3) Give all members - but particularly student members - a forum to present their research, and 4) Contribute to members' self-care plans by providing an opportunity for networking, camaraderie, and renewal.

Members receive a subscription to the "OSPA Bulletin," our official newsletter. Members who leave the state often maintain their memberships to continue their subscriptions to this valuable source of information and communication.

Members have access to electronic publishing. Designed specifically for their needs and convenience, this website maintains an archive of essential data, provides convenient on-line memebership applications and training conference registration, a web log (blog), and OSPATALK, the on-line listserver-based discussion group. Some information is available to the public, but only members have access to special features.

Members have the opportunity to participate in governance. The will of the membership ultimately determines what OSPA will accomplish. Conference topics, policies, procedures, the annual budget - all of these and more result from member volunteerism. Whether you have an hour per year, an hour per month, or an hour per day to contribute, please step forward and participate in the improvement of the profession. OSPA can match your talents with a critical task that gives you the satisfaction of accomplishment!

News and Announcements

"Back to Paper/Mail-in" OSPA Membership Registration and Conference Registration
The Oregon School Psychologists Association website will be completely re-designed over the summer break. Until the project is done, you will NOT be able to join, renew membership, or sign-up for conferences online. You WILL find paper forms online that you can download, print out, fill-in, and mail back to OSPA, however.

Information on "Patterns of Strengths and Weaknesses"
By special request, this website will now dedicate a page to storing the latest data about using a "patterns of strengths and weaknesses" approach to the identification of Learning Disabilities. As you discover new developments, please forward them to webmaster@ospaonline.com so that we can incorporate them into the library. Thanks!.

Free Advertising for Oregon School Psychologists Positions on OSPA Website: If your school district is trying to hire a school psychologist, you can place your announcement on this website free of charge. Send a short email with the details to webmaster@ospaonline.com.
